InvisiGARD Imitators

Due to the fact that Paint & Headlight Protection Kits are relatively new to the market, one may be confused by the varying costs of the kits offered.

Be advised - not all "advertised" Paint or Headlight Protection kits are the same!

Naturally, curious beings that we are, several kits were obtained from companies that offered Paint Protection through their website or online auctions.

Here's what we found:

In most cases, it was difficult to obtain a true layout or diagram of the product listed. If and when the product was received, some did not match the vehicle it was ordered for. Hence, the kit could not be used for it's intended purpose.

One Paint Protection Kit, advertised through an online auction for $9.99, shipped with only the Bumper piece and not the complete Hood & Bumper kit as advertised. Furthermore, the material provided was not industry accepted 8 mil Paint Protection product. Rather, it was mere 2-3 mil Intermediate grade clear vinyl, which is normally used for temporary signage and graphic applications - not for protection against road debris.

Thus, as the adage goes, "You get what you pay for".

Here's what to Look For and Ask:

1. Product Composition

InvisiGARD Paint Protection film consists of an 8 mil optically clear urethane, while our Headlight protection boasts of an overall thickness of 15 mil. Review the thickness of the product offered and ask what it's made of. If it's like most other films, it may be manufactured with a composition that's prone to yellow over a short period of time. We cover our films with a Lifetime Warranty against yellowing. In addition, we make Technical Data sheets available so our customers know exactly what they're ordering as well as how the material protects their investment.

2. Vehicle Application

We take great care to provide precise outlines that fit the vehicle described. We've found through our study that in many instances, the Paint Protection kit provided by other companies may not even fit the vehicle it was ordered for. Thus, if a kit outline is not shown for the vehicle you have, ask for the Paint Protection diagram prior to ordering. Any reputable company will have no issues with providing you a copy of what you will be receiving.

3. Product Warranty

Does the company provide any type of guarantee? Our written warranties cover our Paint & Headlight protection films against yellowing, cracking and peeling. If you don't see warranty information, be skeptical.
